Angie's Glass Art pays tribute to this culture, which the Basques brought with them when hundreds of them left their homeland and settled in Wyoming in the early 1900's.  Most of them came as sheepherders, living in sheep wagons on remote lands while tending the flocks and learning about this new land they had chosen to call home.

     Buffalo, Wyoming drew a good many of the original Basque immigrants, and their descendants continue to live, work and contribute to the community.   This is also the home of Angie's Glass Art.  Stained glass artist, Angie Bauer, was inspired as she learned the culture of the Basque people who were her friends and neighbors.  When she was invited to display her stained glass at the 1991 Wyoming  Woolgrowers Convention, she put her talents to work in designing stained glass sheep wagon boxes, which were an immediate hit.  These were soon modified to include a tray for jewelry

     She was challenged to make additional changes and improvements to her sheep wagon design over the next few years.  Her most popular piece now is the sheep wagon accent lamp, which features a hinged door, window and stovepipe.  She offers sheep wagons made to your specifications, brands, colors, or any modification to the wagon itself.
